Hospitals’ Lottery 2012
Rules Governing Operation of Raffle

  1. Age limit for ticket purchasers is 18 years or older and the name of a person under the age of 18 may not be written on the ticket due to requirements of the Public Trustee's Act.
  2. Tickets will not be sold outside of the province of Alberta.
  3. The number of tickets offered in this lottery is 92,000: 10,500 @ $25 each and 11,650 sets of 5 for $100, 1,550 sets of 15 for $250. Total number of tickets printed is 92,000.
  4. Ticket control and distribution for Hospitals' Lottery 2012 will be under the management of Stride Management Corp. 3950 12th Street N.E. Calgary, AB T2E 8H9.
  5. All draw(s) will be managed by the firm of Stride Management Corp. 3950 12th Street N.E. Calgary AB T2E 8H9; the accounting firm of BDO Dunwoody Ltd., 4817 48 Street, Red Deer AB T4N 1S6 are the official auditors for the RDRH Foundation. The draw details are as follows:

    Previous Supporter and Friends Draw Ticket sales cut-off: March 15, 2012 (11:00pm) Draw date: March 29, 2012 (2:00pm) Location: Stride Management Corp., 3950 12 Street NE, Calgary AB Draws: 5 - $1,000 Cash Prizes

    Early Bird Draw Ticket sales cut-off: June 10, 2012 (11:00pm) Draw date: June 26, 2012 (2:00 pm) Location: Stride Management Corp. 3950 12th Street NE Calgary, AB Draw: Winner's Choice of 2012 Dodge 1500 Sport Crew Cab Truck with a 2012 Crusader 5th Wheel OR $57,500 cash. NOTE: Winner must make his or her choice by July 10, 2012. If winner cannot be located until after this date, they will automatically be awarded with the cash option.

    Final Draw Ticket sales cut-off: June 24, 2012 (11:00pm) Draw date: July 9, 2012 (9:00am) Location: Grand Prize Home, 19 Tobin Gate, Red Deer, AB Draws: Draws of the remaining prizes will be made starting with the prize of the least retail value

    Final Top 3 Draws Ticket sales cut-off: June 24, 2012 (11:00pm) Draw date: July 9, 2012 (9:00am) Location: Grand Prize Home, 19 Tobin Gate, Red Deer, AB Draws: Draws of the remaining 3 prizes (consisting of 2 Vehicles & the Grand Prize Home) will be made starting with the prize of the least retail value and ending with the largest.

    Any person wishing to view the draws may do so by attending the above location(s) on the draw date(s).

    Ticket sales cut-off dates provides 10 days for cheques to clear the bank prior to a ticket being issued and placed in the draw drum.

    Draw order: Draws will be made in the following manner 1). Previous Supporter & Friends Draw 2). Early Bird Draw 3). Final Draws being all remaining prizes starting with the prize of least retail value up to the largest. After each winner is recorded, the stub will be returned to the drum. Ticket buyers are eligible for all 460 draws.

  6. Should all tickets be sold out by 11:00pm on June 10, 2012, (Early Bird cut-off) all draws will be made, with permission of Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission, on June 26, 2012 under the control of Stride Management Corp.
  7. The following are ineligible to purchase tickets in the lottery:
  8. The minimum number of tickets that must be sold before the lottery is cancelled or an extension requested is any combination of the 10,500 @ $25 each or 11,650 sets of 5 for $100 or 1,550 sets of 15 for $250 to reach a revenue of $1,115,000 or 60% of Gross Revenue.
  9. In the event that all tickets have been sold when a ticket request form is received from a potential ticket purchaser, the potential purchaser will be notified and where applicable a refund of the ticket purchase amount will be made.
  10. Anyone wishing to cancel his or her ticket purchase and receive a full refund may do so, providing that the request is in writing and is received by March 24, 2012; one week prior to the first draw. Requests for ticket cancellation must be mailed or hand delivered to Stride Management Corp. 3950 12th Street NE Calgary, AB T2E 8H9. If any purchased ticket has been entered into the drum for any draw, no refund will be issued (as that ticket will be deemed to have received its fair market value).
  11. Ticket purchases are NOT eligible for tax receipts under Revenue Canada Rules.
  12. Retail value of all prizes is $922,573.48 including GST. 460 prizes will be awarded.
  13. Prizes must be accepted as awarded – no prize or cash substitutions will be offered unless otherwise stated in these official rules or unless the prize offers an advertised cash option (such is the case with the Early Bird Draw and Dream Vacation packages).
  14. Regarding the Red Deer Rebels Season Passes: each of the prize packages will entitle the bearer to choose two seats within the ENMAX Centrium from available seating for the 2012-2013 WHL Season. In the event that a winner has already purchased Red Deer Rebels' season tickets for the upcoming season, they will be permitted to either select an additional two seats for the 2012-2013 season, or carry the credit forward to the 2013-2014 regular season. No refunds will be issued for previously purchased season ticket packages. The vouchers are non-transferable, have no cash value and the winners must have the season tickets issued in their names.
  15. Regarding the choice of the Dream Vacation's 2013 Masters: Hospitals' Lottery will provide a 2013 Masters Custom Package in partnership with On Point Events (On Point, LP). This package is for 2 people (the winner and a guest of their choice) and will consist of:

Regarding the choice of the Dream Vacation's 2012/ 2013 UFC event: Hospitals' Lottery will provide a UFC experience for an event of the winner's choice between the dates of June 25, 2012 and June 25, 2013. The package expires June 25, 2013. This package is for 2 people (the winner and a guest of their choice). It will be provided in partnership with On Point Events (On Point, LP), and will consist of the following: The Hospitals' Lottery will pay for this package up to a maximum of $10,000.00 CAD. Winners will be responsible for expenses related to vehicle rental, meals, and anything over and above the package detailed above. The package must be booked as soon as possible after the winner's choice UFC fight announcement to guarantee all details of the package will be available. Hospitals' Lottery will not be responsible for any issues that arise as a result of late booking. This package is non-transferable and has no cash value. This package expires June 25, 2013.
  17. Regarding the choice of the Dream Vacation's 2012/ 2013 International Cooking Vacation: Hospitals' Lottery will provide an International Cooking experience for 2 people (the winner and a guest of their choice) in partnership with The International Kitchen. Hospitals' Lottery will pay for a package that is valued up to a maximum of $10,000.00 CAD (including airfare)- so the winners will be limited in their choice of the package. Details of the package will vary depending on the package selected, however all packages will include return airfare from either Edmonton International Airport or Calgary International Airport. Winners will be responsible for expenses over and above their detailed package that they choose. Additionally, if the winner chooses a more expensive package, they will be responsible to cover the difference over and above the $10,000.00 contribution from Hospitals' Lottery. Hospitals' Lottery will not be responsible for any issues that arise as a result of booking conflictions. This package is non-transferable and has no cash value. This package expires June 25, 2013.
  18. Regarding the choice of the Dream Vacation: if, for any reason, the winners are unable to travel, they will be provided with a cash prize of $10,000.00.
  19. Each vehicle winner (not including the Early Bird package) will have a choice between two vehicles in the category they won; the other vehicle will not be awarded. Vehicle prizes have no cash value and must be taken as awarded.
  20. All winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize. If any prize remains unclaimed for 1 day more than one year from the draw date, a request will be made to Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission for a decision regarding the disbursement of the prize(s).
  21. Prizes will be awarded as outlined in the letter from the Stride Management Corp. and will be awarded as presented, where presented; expenses incurred by the winner to claim their prize will not be reimbursed. For example, travel to pick-up prize or postage to provide special delivery of prize.
  22. All winners will be expected to claim their prize from the vendor as outlined in the winners' letter.
  23. In the event that a substitution for the prize advertised is required (for example a certain model of electronic) the substituted prize will be of equal or greater retail value than that which was advertised.
  24. Tickets may be purchased by more than one person and space is provided for on the back of tickets to cover these orders. However, if a ticket stub with more than one purchaser is drawn, the licensee shall award the prize to any individual(s) whose name is listed on the "official" stub. The licensee and Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission are not responsible for any disputes, which may arise between different persons purchasing one ticket.
  25. All winners will be notified in writing and in some cases also by telephone, by Hospitals' Lottery Officials and/or the firm of Stride Management Corp. informing them of what they have won and how to claim the prize. All winners' names will be published in a major newspaper in Red Deer as well as published on the Hospitals' Home Lottery website: www.hospitalslottery.com.
  26. The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation reserves the right to publish the name(s) and photographs of all winners, for promotional and notification reasons; unless notified in writing by the individual "winner" upon notification of their winning and prior to publication dates of their wish to remain anonymous.
  27. All persons 18 and older who purchase a Hospital's Lottery ticket within the province of Alberta before the cut-off date of 11:00pm on March 15, 2012 will be eligible for the Previous Supporters & Friends draw regardless of whether or not they purchased a ticket in previous years.
